Installation
There is no traditional installation process for this version of Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. Simply copy the entire game folder onto your computer. Once copied, the game is ready to be played!

About the Game
Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is a standalone expansion to the critically acclaimed real-time strategy (RTS) game, Supreme Commander. It significantly expands upon the original with new factions, units, and gameplay mechanics, offering truly massive-scale warfare.

Massive Scale Warfare: Command enormous armies, super-weapons, and experimental units across vast maps. Battles can involve hundreds, even thousands, of units simultaneously.
Three Original Factions:
United Earth Federation (UEF): Focuses on conventional, durable, and versatile warfare.
Cybran Nation: Employs experimental, agile, and technologically advanced units.
Aeon Illuminate: Utilizes sleek, powerful, and aesthetically unique units with a focus on precision and energy weapons.
One New Faction (Forged Alliance):
Seraphim: An ancient alien race with unique abilities, including powerful shield-disrupting technology and devastating energy weapons.
Strategic Zoom: Seamlessly zoom from a zoomed-out strategic map view to a close-up, unit-level perspective at any time, allowing for ultimate battlefield control.
Economic Management: Manage mass and energy resources to build your base, produce units, and research powerful upgrades.
Experimental Units: Unleash colossal experimental units that can single-handedly turn the tide of battle, from giant robots to walking fortresses and devastating super-weapons.
Optimizing Performance (Core Maximizer)
Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance can be very CPU-intensive due to its large scale. To ensure the game utilizes all available CPU cores for the best performance, you may need to configure Core Maximizer.

Launch the Game: Start Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance using StartGame.bat.
Locate Core Maximizer: Once the game has launched, look for the Core Maximizer icon in your Windows Taskbar's notification area (bottom right corner of your screen). It might be hidden, so you may need to click the small up-arrow to show hidden icons.
Configure Core Maximizer:
Right-click on the Core Maximizer icon.
Look for options related to CPU core usage or affinity.
Ensure that Core Maximizer is configured to utilize all available CPU cores for the game process. This is crucial for smooth gameplay, especially in larger battles. The exact phrasing may vary depending on the Core Maximizer version.
By properly configuring Core Maximizer, you'll ensure the game can leverage your system's full processing power.

Adjusting In-Game Settings
To further optimize your Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance experience:

Launch the Game: Start Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance using StartGame.bat.
Options Menu: From the main menu, navigate to the "Options" menu.
Video Settings:
Resolution: Set this to your monitor's native resolution for the sharpest image.
Overall Quality / Detail Levels: Adjust these settings (e.g., unit detail, terrain detail, shadows, effects) to balance visual quality with frame rate. Lowering these can significantly improve performance in large battles.
Unit Cap: While not a graphics setting, lowering the "Unit Cap" in gameplay options can also help performance by limiting the total number of units on the map.
Audio Settings:
Adjust master volume, music, and sound effects to your preference.
Control Settings:
Customize camera controls, hotkeys, and mouse sensitivity to suit your playstyle.
Experiment with these settings to find what works best for your system and preferences.

Starting the Game
To launch Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance after initial setup, the recommended way to start the game is by running StartGame.bat. You'll find this file in the main game directory.

For convenient access, we strongly advise creating a shortcut to StartGame.bat on your desktop.
