FREELANCER LAN CLIENT

Welcome to Freelancer! This package contains the files needed to play the HD version of the game and connect to your LAN server.

OVERVIEW

Freelancer is a space trading and combat simulation game set in a futuristic galaxy. Players pilot ships, engage in dogfights, trade goods, and explore a universe filled with factions, planets, and hidden secrets. Multiplayer allows you to cooperate or compete with friends in team battles, free-for-all skirmishes, or mission-based gameplay.

GETTING STARTED
---------------------------------------------
1. Extract all files from this zip to a folder on your PC.
2. Run `startgame.bat` to launch the HD version of Freelancer directly.

CONNECTING TO THE LAN SERVER
---------------------------------------------
- Ensure your LAN server is running on the host computer.
- Once the game launches, go to **Multiplayer → Join Game**.
- Find the LAN server in the server list or enter the host computer’s IP address manually.
- Click **Connect** to join the game.

TIPS FOR PLAYING
---------------------------------------------
- Explore the galaxy to accept missions and trade with factions.
- Engage in combat alone or in teams. Coordinating with friends in multiplayer will give you an advantage.
- Keep your ship upgraded and monitor cargo, weapons, and shield levels.
- Multiplayer gameplay is fast-paced: expect dynamic dogfights and PvP encounters.

NOTES
---------------------------------------------
- All players must be on the same local network to connect via LAN.
- The server must be running via the host’s `startgame.bat`.
- Save your progress in single-player mode frequently.
